Adventures on a Normal Day

Today was full of new adventures. Who would think a normal Thursday in the middle of summer would offer such newness and diversity?

Not in any order, I:

  • watched a lady police officer harass an older black man sitting in the park reading his Bible (I thought that was what parks were for),
  • experienced a couple of very good new wines,
  • found out that my 16-year old really can put things away in their right spots (and that is a very new discovery after being totally hidden for 16 years)
  • found (and used) my 30 year old small table saw,
  • determined that the beers that beer-salespeople choose to “market” at free tastings (or perhaps are told to market by “someone”) are not any beer I would ever buy,
  • determined that a cheap wet-saw may be one of the best investments I have ever made,

Therefore, it was a very good day! I think I’ll have another one tomorrow.

Passion is critical

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”. ~ Harold Whitman

Have you come alive? What do you need to help you come alive? What are your passionate about? What are you doing when you completely lose track of time?

If you had time, what would you do all day? If you won the lotto, what would you do after paying off your debt? What is the MOST important thing in life?

Write down your answers to all these questions.

NOW — write next to each one WHY you aren’t doing it, living it, being it?

Are you ready? How badly do you want to do it, live it be it? Tell me in a comment.
